About Us

Abbington Assisted Living Communities are privately owned Ohio entities. We are proud to be integral parts of their local communities, serving Columbus, Upper Arlington, Powell, Dublin, Pickerington, Chillicothe and Coshocton.

Abbington’s mission is to enhance the independence and quality of life of each resident by providing care with respect and dignity in a safe, comfortable environment.

Abbington was founded in the mid 1990’s and is privately owned out of Columbus, Ohio area. Our Chairman, John Haemmerle, and our President, J. Michael Haemmerle were instrumental in the formation and development of Abbington, and they are actively involved today.

Abbington has five assisted living communities in Ohio. Each location is an independent business entity sharing a common Board. The Abbington Assisted Living Communities are managed by Abbington Management Corp, located in Dublin, Ohio. We are proud to be a local, privately owned company, with a focus on providing personalized care to our residents.

Medicaid Waiver Program

All of the Abbington Assisted Living Communities are approved Medicaid Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) providers. This is a great comfort to residents that may be exhausting their funds over time. The Ohio Medicaid Waiver Program may enable you to continue to live in an Abbington Community after you have exhausted your funds as long as Abbington is able to meet your health and wellness needs.
